Where He Sleeps
When the system that promised to save him decides he is no longer a priority - where does he go?"
Seventeen-year-old Jay (Cole Martin) is living in a council-run hostel after fleeing an abusive stepfather and a year sleeping rough. With the support of his social worker Yvette (Llewella Gideon), he begins to turn his life around - believing that if he can prove himself responsible, he will move up the social housing ladder and finally have a place to call home.
But the worsening housing crisis has other plans. Yvette is forced to deliver devastating news: Jay is no longer a priority. Months stretch into the prospect of years inside the hostel. Abandoned by his absent father and let down by a system stretched too thin, Jay returns to the streets - where, at last, he has agency, but at the cost of his safety.
